The Minister for Education, Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum has hinted government’s plans to roll out e-employment to recruit graduates unemployed persons into the education sector.

The Minister for Education, Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum has hinted government’s plans to roll out e-employment to recruit graduates unemployed persons into the education sector.

According to the Minister, who doubles as the Member of Parliament for the Bosome Freho constituency, Ghana has a large number of teachers than any other African country, hence, the agitations that most schools lack teachers are unsubstantiated and cannot be countenanced.

This, according him, it is imperative that more people are recruited electronically, especially science and mathematics graduate teachers.

In an interview with Wontumi TV’s  Nana Asiedu, he said, the education ministry together with the GES and the National Service Secretariat will soon roll out “rural areas motivation scheme” to boost and empower more teachers into accepting postings in remote communities.

He said, the policy will see to the construction of houses and other compelling incentives to ignite the commitment of the teachers to stay for a longer period as teaching and learning continues to be effective.

Plans has been far advanced between the ministry, GES and the National Service Secretariat. We will soon partner with the Chiefs for lands so we can build community bungalows for teachers in remote communities”. The Minister for Education noted

The minister said President Akufo-Addo’s commitment to ensure that every Ghanaian child benefit from the government’s persistent policies of earmarking the best of education in the sub Saharan region.
