The Finance Minister, Dr. Mohammed Amin Adam, and the Minister for Food and Agriculture, Dr. Bryan Acheampong, have raised concerns about potential spikes in food inflation due to a significant decline in rainfall in certain regions of the country.
During a visit to farms in the Bono East Region, where more than 45% of crops have been affected by delayed rains, the ministers assessed the extent of the damage.
The visit aimed to evaluate the impact of the recent drought on agricultural productivity.
Speaking to the media after the inspection, Finance Minister Dr. Mohammed Amin Adam highlighted how the situation could adversely impact the national economy.
Agriculture Minister Dr. Bryan Acheampong also expressed grave concern and emphasized the urgency for government intervention to address the issue and prevent further damage.
