Ghanaian security expert, Clement Sagnapaare has said the government’s approach of arresting coup commentators is not advisable.
The renowned security expert was reacting to statement made by the University of Ghana Law Lecturer, Professor Raymond Atuguba on grounds that Ghana fertile to experience coup.
Speaking in an interview on Nkawkaw – based Agoo FM, Mr. Sagnapaare was of the view that, government does not have to wage war on people who pass such comments.
According to him, although he condemns such an unfortunate altercations but in his opinion, government should allow the commentators to make their statements and allow the security agencies to investigate the background of such people.
The security expert however noted government’s haste approach to apprehend these people are not advisable.
“Allow them. Let them make their comments but push for the security agencies to investigate the background of these people, you will get them if it is true. They way they’re arresting people is not just advisable,” he said.
He chastised the NPP administration for doing things in their own way and that the law of karma has caught up with the Akufo-Addo led government.
According to him, government’s campaign against John Mahama’s under-performing administration is now hugely crawling, citing Ghana’s cedi to be squabbling with the dollar.
He said, in as much as he does not support coup, the hardships in the country will cause the youth to rise against the state because the leaders of the country becoming wicked day in and out.
