League leaders Aduana Stars recorded a 2-0 victory over Accra Hearts of Oak in match week 18 of the betPawa Ghana Premier League at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday.
Both teams played out to a goalless draw in the first 45 minutes of the game, as they failed to create enough chances.
However, Aduana started the second half looking the better side, taking an early lead a minute after the start of the second 45 minutes, with a goal coming from Isaac Mintah who calmly slotted the ball into the corner of the net after Sam Adams’s low cross into the 18-yard box.
Isaac Mintah completed a brace with another beautiful goal in the 63rd minute, helping the Dormaa-based club to pick all three points.
Aduana have extended their lead with 35 points on top of the table – 5 points off second-placed Bechem United.
Hearts of Oak are 4th with 28 points – 7 points behind the league leaders.
At the Nana Gyeabour Park, Bechem United defeated Great Olympics by 3-0 on Sunday.
Two goals from Hafiz Wontah Konkoni and Abdul Karim secured all three points for Bechem United, as they move second on the league table with 30 points.
Kumasi Asante Kotoko were also held to a goalless draw by Nsoatreman at the Nana Konamansah Park on Saturday.
The results were a blow to Kotoko as they failed to close the gap between them and Aduana on the league table.
The Porcupine Warriors are 3rd on the table with 28 points whilst Nsoatreman is 12th with 24 points.
