Aduana Stars narrowly grabbed a victory against Medeama SC on Sunday, March 12, 2023, at the Nana Agyemang Badu Stadium, to help them go five points clear on top of the league table.
Kelvin Obeng’s only goal of the match helped the Dormaa-based club secure a much-needed win for Takyi Arhin’s side on match week 21, helping them open a five-point gap at the top of the league table.
Aduana now have 39 points on top, as they eye the league title.
At DUN’S Park in Bibiani on Saturday, Hearts of Oak were held by Bibiani GoldStars to a disappointing draw.
The miners had a decent start, as they mounted pressure on Hearts in the early parts of the first half, giving them an early lead, as Evans Owusu’s deflected cross found its way into the goalpost in the fourth minute.
A poor Hearts of Oak side could not create many chances as to get back into the game in the first half.
Hearts looked a better side in the second half, as they managed to create chances.
However, the visitors grabbed a late equalizer in the 98th minute, after Ibrahim Salifu’s free-kick was headed to the back of the net by Isaac Mensah.
Hearts lie 4th in the league table with 32 points-7 points of league leaders Aduana Stars.
