Accra Hearts of Oak snatched a late winner after a tough game between them and Kotoku Royals at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday, March 19, 2023.
The Phobian club looked very poor in both the first and second half of the game as they could not pose much threat to the struggling Kotoku Royals.
The away team were organized defensively and only hoped to pick a point against Hearts, but were disappointed to concede a goal late in the match.
Hearts defender, Caleb Amankwaa headed past Kotoku Royals goalkeeper Frank Boateng from a free-kick, with seconds to end the game, to give hearts of Oak all three points.
The results mean Hearts are now fourth in the league table-four points behind league leaders Aduana Stars.
Kotoku Royals meanwhile, are bottom of the table with seventeen points.
At Samreboi, Kotoko defeated Samartex FC 2-1 on Saturday, March 18, 2023.
Two first-half goals from Enock Morrison and Rocky Dwamena for the Porcupine Warriors were enough for Kotoko to finally get an away win in nine away matches.
The home team pulled one back at stoppage time to end the match 2-1 in favour of Kotoko.
Kotoko sits 5th in the league table with 34 points, with a game in hand.
