Kumasi Asante Kotoko showed an improved performance against Kotoku Royals at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Sunday, January 29, in the betPawa Ghana Premier League match day 14, as they thrash the Royals by 5 goals to 1.

Kotoko had in their last four games unable to register a win in the betPawa Ghana Premier League, drawing all four but thanks to goals from Stephen Mukwala, Richmond Lamptey, ย Eric Zeze and Solomon Sarfo, the Porcupine Warriors recorded an emphatic 5-1 victory.

The only consolation goal for Kotoku Royals came from Francis Andy Kumi.

Elsewhere in the Western Region, Accra Hearts of Oak travelled to Tarkwa to face Medeama SC on Saturday, where they defeated the Tarkwa-based club by a goal to nil.

First half goal from Obeng Junior was enough to seal the win for the Phobians, boosting their title winning hopes.

After league leaders, Aduana Stars also dropped points against Accra Lions in a 1-1 draw yesterday, Kumasi Asante Kotoko and Accra Hearts of Oak are now one point behind the Dormaa Ahenkro based club who are leading with 25 points.

Kotoko is second with 24 points, whiles Hearts is also third with 24 points.
