Tamale City’s hopes of surviving in the betPawa Ghana Premier League strengthened with a superb victory over Accra Hearts of Oak at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium in midweek, as they won by 4-1.
Sampson Eduku scored twice in the first half, as the Tamale based club enjoyed a fantastic 45 minutes.
Hearts, who were very poor defensively cheaply gave away another goal few minutes into the start of the second half, to increase the tally for Tamale City.
Victor Aidoo got a consolation goal for the away team on the 80th minute, but Tamale City added the fourth goal in stoppage time to pick all three points.
In another match, league leaders Aduana Stars secured a 2-0 victory against Bibiani Gold Stars, picking up themselves from the defeat against Kotoko in game week 27.
Aduana still maintain their lead with 3 points difference between them and second placed Medeama SC, who are on 47 points.
Having defeated Dreams FC 3-2, Medeama moved up to second place.
The Tarkwa-based team earned all three points thanks to a goal by Hamidu Abdul Fatawu in the ending part of the game.
