Accra Hearts of Oak on Saturday grabbed a late winner in the betPawa Premier League week 29 against King Faisal at the Accra Sports Stadium.
In spite of having a brilliant start, the Phobians could not find the back of the net, as the first half ended goalless.
Hearts continued to dominate the second 45 minutes and managed to get the first goal with just a minute to stoppage time.
It all started with captain Gladson Awako, who picked the ball from midfield and laid a through pass to Cameroonian striker, Albert Dieudonne Eonde who beautifully sent in a low cross into the King Faisal 18-yard box for Salifu Ibrahim, who arrived at the right place at the right time to tap in the cross to give Hearts the lead.
Linda Mtange added the second goal for Hearts, with just three minutes to the end of the game for the home side to get all three points.
The results takes Hearts to fourth position with 45 points in the league table while King Faisal is in the bottom three with 36 points.
On Sunday, Kumasi Asante Kotoko were held to a 1-1 draw at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium by Tamale City.
Kotoko had a good start with creating many chances yet it was Tamale City who got the first goal, which was flagged offside on the 28th minute before Rocky Dwamena blasted a long range shot to give Kotoko the lead on the 36th minute.
However, four minutes after Kotoko had taken the lead, Tamale City equalized through Yahya Mohammed who was poorly marked in the 18-yard box.
Both teams tried to get a goal to separate them in the second half but the match ended in a draw.
The Porcupine Warriors are now 5th in the league table with two points behind Hearts of Oak while Tamale City is 15th with 36 points.
