Aduana Stars were held to a goalless draw on Monday against Karela United at Nana Agyemang Badu (I) Park, opening up the Ghana Premier League title chase.
The Dormaa-based club was very dominant in both the first and second half but could not find a way through a well-organized defense of Karela.
It was a frustrating afternoon for Aduana especially after they dropped two points against Kotoko Royals in match week 29.
With only four games remaining in the league, the results mean Aduana’s lead has been reduced to only two points.
At Tarkwa, Medeama SC reignited their title dreams with a 2-1 win over Bechem United.
Two first-half goals from Jonathan Sowah and Vincent Atinga gave Medeama the lead at the break before Francis Acquah managed to get a consolation goal for Bechem United in the 82nd minute.
The victory has seen Medeama move to 50 points – just two points between them and league leaders Aduana Stars.
