FC Samartex overcame Accra Hearts of Oak 3-2 in an exciting betPawa Ghana Premier League match at the Nsenkyire Sports Complex on Sunday.

Samartex took an early lead in the first half after just seven minutes through Kwasi Ofosu, who blasted a shot into the low corner of the post from behind the Hearts 18-yard box.

Meanwhile, just before the break, Gideon Asante got the equalizer for the Phobians with a beautiful long-range effort.

The second half saw the home side mounting pressure on Hearts, in an attempt to restore their lead, but could not take their chances.

The Phobians however capitalized on their opportunities, and took the lead in the 63rd minute of the game, with Linda Mtange’s goal giving Hearts the hope of picking all three points.

But Samartex equalized 11 minutes after Hearts of Oak’s advantage in the second half and surprisingly got a last-minute winner to give them all three points.

In Kumasi, Asante Kotoko were dealt a blow in their game against Bibiani Gold Stars at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

Three days after Kotoko suffered a 2-0 defeat against Great Olympics, they hoped to grab a win against Gold Stars at home, and it looked more so after they took an early lead on Sunday.

It was Solomon Sarfo-Taylor who fired home a low shot just on the edge of the Gold Stars’ 18-yard box, after 5 minutes into the start of the game.

But Gold Stars put up a good performance after they went down by a goal to nil, and created some decent chances in the quest to get back on level, but thanks to Kotoko’s goalkeeper, Frederick Asare’s brilliance, Kotoko still maintained their lead in the first half.

Gold Stars got however, got the equalizer in stoppage time through Abednego Tetteh to deny Kotoko all three points.
