Aduana travelled to Accra to face Accra Lions on Saturday and failed to get a win to help them maintain their position on top of the league table.
Accra Lions put up a remarkable performance and managed to beat the league leaders by 3 goals to nil.
The Dormaa-based team didn’t get off to a good start in the match as the host team forced them into numerous defensive mistakes.
Baba Apiiga scored from a free-kick on the 29th minute, after his effort took a deflection to beat Aduana’s goalkeeper.
Deep into the second half, the home side got the second goal through Evans Botchway, whiles Seidu Basit made it 3-0 with just eight minutes to the end of ninety minutes.
Meanwhile on Sunday, Medeama SC surged past Aduana Stars to take the top spot of the betPawa Premier League table, after smashing Accra Hearts of Oak in a six-goal thriller at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The away side finished the first half with a 3-1 advantage, as hopes for the Phobians to stay in the top four diminished.
Hearts improved in the early parts of the second half and got a goal on the 62nd-minute mark, but the goal was ruled out for offside.
However, Medeama added two late goals to end the game by 5-1 in favour of the Tarkwa-based club.
The results mean Medeama moves to the top of the table with 53 points, whiles Aduana drops to second with 52 points.
