Accra Hearts of Oak returned to victory in the 2023/2024 betPawa Ghana Premier League on Sunday, after beating Nsoatreman FC in match week 2 at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The Phobian’s only goal came very early in the first half of the game after they capitalized on a mistake by Nsoatreman in the midfield.
Congolese striker, Ramos Kashala, arrived in the 18-yard box at the right time to connect Salifu Ibrahim’s cross in the 4th minute to register his debut goal in front of the Hearts fans after signing the Phobians in September this year.
Nsoatreman had their problems doubled after captain Philip Ofori was sent off 16 minutes to the end of the first half, for an elbow on Ramos Kashala, going into the break with a 1-0 advantage.
Hearts began the second half on a high, creating many chances to double their lead, but were wasteful upfront, as the game ended with Kashala’s only goal.
Results mean Hearts move to 10th position in the league table with 3 points.
At Dormaa, Aduana Stars hosted defending champions, Medeama SC, who failed again to get a win at the Nana Agyemang I Badu Stadium on Sunday.
Aduana scored two unanswered goals to pick all three points, leaving Medeama at the bottom of the league table with only 1 point after two games.
