FC Samartex on Sunday continued their fine form at home by beating Bofoakwa Tano in the Ghana Premier League to extend their stay on top of the table.
The Samreboi club recorded a 3-0 victory over the visitors, as they edge closer to clinching their first-ever league title in the history of the club.
Two first-half goals from Baba Hamadu Musah and Evans Osei Owusu gave the home side the advantage going into the break, to deepen the woes of relegation threaten Bofoakwa Tano.
The league leaders wrapped up their win in the second half, with Maxwell Owusu Boakye scoring the third and only goal of the half.
The victory gives them a seven-point lead, with four more games to end the season.
At the Accra Sports Stadium, Aduana Stars secured a narrow victory over Accra Hearts of Oak on Sunday afternoon as the poor form of the Phobians in the 2023/2024 season continued.
The visitors had taken the lead 10 minutes into the start of the game, as a long ball from the deep half of Aduana to Kelvin Obeng was calmly slotted into the goalpost.
The Phobians pushed hard for the equalizer but Aduana showed resilience to prevent Hearts from coming level and managed to take all three points at the end of the game.
Hearts, now sit 12th on the league table with 38 points.
