A group called Ghana Football Stakeholders Forum has received a green light from the Ghana Police to go ahead with a planned demonstration against leaders of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) on October 4.

A letter addressed to the group by the Police did indicate that permission has been granted for the demonstration to go ahead after a meeting at the police headquarters.

“Pursuant to a meeting held between you and the Police at the Regional Headquarters, Accra on 26th September, 2023, it was agreed that you embark on your intended demonstration on 4th October, 2023 between the hours of 9am and 2pm,” part of the statement read.

The demonstration according to the group is a result of the poor administration of the football association, and intends to create awareness for the right things to be done.

Also, they have expressed displeasure with how former Vice President of the GFA, George Afriyie has been disqualified from contesting for the GFA presidential slot.

As part of the demonstration, they will present a petition to the GFA and the Minister of Youth and Sports.

Meanwhile, due to a court-ordered adjournment associated with the dispute between King Faisal and the GFA, the elections which was scheduled for October 5, remains on hold with new date for the case now set for Thursday, October 12, 2023.
