The Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) has announced the approved fees for the University of Ghana for the 2025/2026 academic year, aiming to clarify the fee structure and address concerns among students and stakeholders.

In a statement signed by Director General Ahmed Jinapor Abdulai, GTEC confirmed that the Academic Facility User Fee will remain at the 2024/2025 rate, ensuring no increase for students.

Other approved fees include:

Student Representative Council (SRC) dues: GH₵50

SRC Development Levy: GH₵150

Graduate Students (GRASAG) Development Levy: GH₵250

Telecel Broadband Levy: GH₵122, applicable to all undergraduates, including freshmen.

The statement also introduced a 75th Anniversary Levy of GH₵100, which will be a one-time charge for the 2025/2026 academic year only.

GTEC emphasized the importance of educating students about their rights, including the option to opt out of certain levies where applicable, describing the announcement as a measure to promote transparency and compliance within the university.

“This announcement seeks to resolve issues surrounding the 2025/2026 fee schedule for the University of Ghana. We are counting on the usual cooperation of all stakeholders to implement it effectively,” the statement added
