Hiplife musician, Maradona Adjei Yeboah, known in the Ghanaian music industry as Guru NKZ, is back in the University of Ghana’s Student Representative Council presidential race after winning an appeal following his disqualification.
Guru filed an injunction against the University of Ghana’s Student Representative Council (SRC) Electoral Commission and Office of the Dean of Student Affairs following his disqualification from the SRCpresidential race suggesting that he is not a hall resident on campus, a violation of Article 30, which mandates that candidates must be campus residents and eligible to contest for a Junior Common Room (JCR) position in their hall.
However, after the hearing, the board of appeal on September 15, 2024, has set aside the disqualification by a unanimous decision of 7-0, thus, ordering to add Guru and his running mate’s name to the list of the Presidential candidates.
The balloting for all candidates vetted by the vetting committee is scheduled for Monday, September 16.
