Guru files injunction against UG SRC elections after disqualification

Maradona Adjei Yeboah, known as Guru NKZ in the Ghanaian music industry has disclosed that his legal team has filed an injunction against the University of Ghana’s Student Representative Council (SRC) Electoral Commission following his disqualification from the SRCpresidential race.

A statement from Guru NKZ, and his running mate, Jeffery Adu Yeboah indicated that they have petitioned the Electoral Commission and the Office of the Dean of Student Affairs to look into the matter.

“On Monday, 19th August 2024, we formally filed a petition against the SRC Electoral Commission’s decision to disqualify Maradona Adjei Yeboah (Guru NKZ) due to his non-resident status. This petition has been lodged with the Electoral Commission and the Office of the Dean of Students Affairs of our dear university.”

“Additionally, an interim injunction has been submitted to the Judicial Board, requesting a temporary halt to the electoral process until a proper hearing and ruling can be made”, a portion of the statement read.

“We shall ensure that there is no discrimination towards any student, whether resident or non-resident, able or with special needs, first Degree or PFD, Local or International, Korle-Bu, City Campus or Distance education, including all the Regional Learning Centers across the length and breadth of the country”. He stated
