Ghana’s Education Minister, Haruna Iddrisu has been discharged from the hospital following a road crash on Thursday, Feb. 12, 2026.

It was announced in a statement dated February 14, 2026, that the minister had been released from the 37 Military Hospital following the crash.
According to the statement, the minister is in good spirits and has been advised by doctors to rest while recovering.
“The Office of the Honourable Minister for Education announces that Hon. Haruna Iddrisu has been discharged from the 37 Military Hospital following a road traffic accident,” the statement said.
Haruna Iddrisu “is in good spirits and has been advised to rest as part of his recovery,” noting that the minister expressed “sincere gratitude to the medical team and all who offered prayers and support,” the statement, which was signed by Hashmin Mohammed, Press Secretary to the Minister, added.
Mr Iddrisu was involved in the accident on Thursday along the Bolgatanga–Tumu road while travelling with Deputy Communications Minister Mohammed Adams Sukparu and members of their teams to the Upper West Region for official engagements.
The two ministers were on their way to commemorate the 40th anniversary celebrations of Tumu College of Education and Jahan College of Education when the incident occurred.
