In a move to enhance the quality of healthcare in the country, the Ministry of Health in partnership with various stakeholders organized a National Quality Forum in Accra.
Under the theme “Ghana Healthcare Quality Strategy: Efforts Towards a Sustainable System for UHC 2030’’, initiative allows stakeholders to address the critical role of leadership and governance, advanced health information systems and medical equipment, and a resilient health workforce in enhancing the quality of healthcare services.
Following the launch of the first national healthcare quality strategy in 2016, this initiative also seeks to unveil and access progress, as well as chart the way forward with the revised National Health Quality Strategy (NHQS) for 2024 -2030.
Speaking on behalf of Dr Bernard Okoe Boye, the Minister for Health, Hon. Alexander Akwesi Acquah, Deputy Minister for Health at the forum emphasized that this year’s theme reflects the ministry’s commitment to improving healthcare quality.
He mentioned that through invaluable support from development partners, a thorough evaluation of the initial NHQS has been conducted.
The findings he added, have identified both achievements and challenges providing a clear direction for the development of the revised strategy.
