Health Ministry receives antiviral drugs from US Gov’t

The Ministry of Health (MOH), Thursday, May 18, 2023, received some antivirals for the treatment of COVID-19 disease from the US Government.

The Ministry of Health (MOH), Thursday, May 18, 2023, received some antivirals for the treatment of COVID-19 disease from the US Government.

Dr Baffour Awuah, the Acting Director of the Technical Coordination Directorate at the Ministry, on behalf of the Minister for Health, Mr. Kwaku Agyemang Manu, received the donation and applauded the US Government and the USAID for their unwavering support to Ghana in combating the COVID-19 pandemic.

He further commended the US Government and USAID for their immense support towards Ghana’s health improvement over the years.

Madam Heather Robinson, Team Lead for Infectious Diseases, USAID Ghana, who donated the items on behalf of the US Government, remarked that the US Government since the pandemic had donated about 12 million doses of Covid-19 vaccines and antivirals to the Government of Ghana and commended all partners of USAID especially JICA for their unflinching support on issues concerning COVID-19.

Present at the meeting were other Directors of the Ministry and some team members of USAID, Ghana.
