The Phobians since 2000 when they beat Okwawu United haven’t won this domestic trophy. In 2017, Hearts came close in the last competition but lost the final to arch rivals Kumasi Asante Kotoko.

Hearts of Oak’s victory against AshantiGold means they have completed the league and cup double six different times in their illustrious history.

The match ended 0-0 after 90 minutes with neither side able to score despite several chances falling the way of both teams.
