Helicopter crash victim, Samuel Aboagye’s family drags US-based widow to court over DNA verification

The family of the late Samuel Aboagye, former NDC parliamentary candidate for Obuasi East, has taken legal action against his US-based wife, Abigail Salami, at the Obuasi District Court over her refusal to comply with DNA verification requests.

The dispute arose after the government requested DNA samples to help identify the remains of victims from the “Big 8” Helicopter Crash. The Aboagye family claims that despite repeated requests, Abigail Salami has ignored calls to present her child for DNA testing.

According to the family, they complied with the government’s request by providing samples from the late candidate’s older daughter from a previous relationship, but the widow refused to present her daughter for the necessary checks.

The legal proceedings seek to compel the widow to cooperate with authorities to ensure accurate identification of the helicopter crash victims, highlighting ongoing family tensions in the aftermath of the tragedy.
