Reigning Kwahu East Best Teacher, Mr. Sampong Eric Boadi has said, teaching is not an easy profession, notwithstanding, heroes don’t put on caps but rather, they teach.
According to him, for one to be a hero, they must be selfless in all endeavors and that, in the absence of man’s recognition, God sees above all things.
He was advising youths who’d want to become teachers when he was held on a one on one interview on Republic FM’s Anopa Dawuro on Thursday, February 3, 2022.
“ What I can say is that teaching is a difficult task, but you know, when we say a hero, they don’t put on caps, they teach and if you want to be a hero, do it with utmost sincere and even no one has seen you, God has” he said.
However, he said, if anyone had not dreamt of becoming a teacher but wants to be a hero, they must direct their attention to the teaching field and support the educational system of the country.
Additionally, he urged authorities to make it a priority to address feeding in the rural areas, though he said, most often they (the teachers) usually support in the feeding of the pupils.
Furthermore, he called for the disbursement of teaching and learning materials for teachers to be able to deliver in their utmost comfort.
However, he appealed to the MP, Bryan Acheampong to absorb distanced trained teachers who have not been taken care off by the government and place them in the district’s rural areas to supporting the shortening teaching staff.
“I will appeal to our MP, Bryan Acheampong to, in his own capacity, absorb the distanced train teachers to support us in the rural areas, just when the government makes a progress to absorb them, then they can go” he added.
He acknowledged the MP for showing commitment to the development of the country, especially the teachers and the health workers.
Mr. Sampong Eric Boadi was awarded the best teacher in the Atta ne Atta area of the Hweehwee circuit for his role in helping students to secure good results in the BECE exam and supporting national service personnel in his area.
