Rose Amoanimaa Yeboah, Ghana’s celebrated high jumper, has once again captivated the African athletics scene with her outstanding performance at the Africa Games 2023, held in Accra, Ghana.

Yeboah, who clinched the African Women’s high jump title at the 2019 Games in Rabat, Morocco, soared to victory for the second time, clearing an impressive height of 1.90 meters at the University of Ghana Stadium on Tuesday, March 19, 2024.

Despite holding the prestigious African Women’s high jumper title, Yeboah is still vying to qualify for the Olympic Games. In a daring attempt to meet the qualifying mark of 1.97 meters, she fell short on her third try, narrowly missing the mark by a mere 0.03 meters, with a jump of 1.94 meters.

Adding to her accolades, Yeboah showcased her prowess at the World University Games, representing the University of Cape Coast. There, she secured the gold medal with an impressive leap of 1.94 meters, outshining competitors like Cyprus’ Elena Kulichenko and Finland’s Venla Pulkkanen, who claimed silver and bronze, respectively.

Rose Yeboah’s remarkable achievements continue to elevate Ghana’s presence on the global athletics stage, solidifying her status as a beacon of excellence in high jumping.
