The National Democratic Congress Parliamentary Candidate for Ayawaso West Wuogon, John Dumelo, has apologised and retracted his comment against the constituency’s Member of Parliament, Lydia Seyram Alhassan.
His apology and retraction come after, he made remarks during the Media General public engagement (Community Manifesto) concerning the death of Hon. Lydia Seyram Alhassan’s husband, Emmanuel Kwabena Kyeremateng Agyarko on Wednesday, August 28, 2024.
John Dumelo’s comment has faced a lot of public scrutiny, forcing him to render an apology on Facebook.
In the post, he admitted that his reaction was inappropriate and uncalled for.
“My comments were in response to personal attacks by supporters of the honourable minister, including false allegations regarding my mother’s death. However, I recognize that my reaction was inappropriate”, a portion of the post read.
