Madam Joycelyn Boampong, the best Midwife in the Kwahu East District, has said she cannot work in any big city as it stands now.

According to the revered client – friendly Midwife, as described by her peers, she has come to love the help and support she offers to her clients in the rural communities than she used to be in the first place she was posted to.

The awardee, who took home a brand new Suzuki Swift, presented to her on Monday by Bryan Acheampong, Member Parliament for Abetifi constituency at the forecourt of the Prestigious Rock City Hotel, said, she cannot fathom why one would think that, she, as far as the experiences she has garnered in the past years would consider going to a bigger town or city to practice her midwifery.

In her submission, she said, “ The experiences and the courses I have had the opportunity to undertake, there was no way I would go to a bigger town or city to work. I’m happy and elated with the little clinics I have worked with. Even most of my colleagues in the cities are surprised at the some of the things I do, because they (in the city) cannot do it, I will retire here”

The Midwife further called on authorities to address the challenges facing the health fraternity in the country, especially her jurisdiction, the Kwahu East District where she serves as a Midwife at the Kotoso Health Centre.

She further said, roads in the Kwahu East District must be fixed and government must also prioritise the working conditions of health workers as one of its monumental achievements by providing incentives for the employees.
