The Ghanaian musician, Samuel Ofori Amponsah popularly referred to as Ofori Amponsah has said that, he had no intention of going into gospel music when he stops secular music.

Speaking on the GTV Breakfast show Entertainment Segment, the Highlife hitmaker stated that, he never had the intention to do gospel music but wanted people to know how he became ‘ the popular Ofori Amponsah’ when he stopped secular music to do evangelism.

He added that he ventured into the Gospel Ministry to get closer to God who made him greater.

“I wasn’t actually going to do gospel music but I just wanted to talk about how Ofori Amponsah came to be. The prayer that, I prayed before Ofori Amponsah came to be . What people don’t actually know and people coming up don’t even know how I started. I just wanted to go back to my God where I started crying to him when I had nothing”, he noted.

Ofori Amponsah however stated that, he does not like Gospel Music.

” I don’t like gospel music, I not so much into it. I like certain types of gospels like worship songs but not the normal mainstream gospel”, he added.

He stated that, God called him to prophesy through music.

“God calls everybody. God has a particular gift or calling for everybody in this life and what matters most is what you discover about what God called you to do. I believe God has a calling for everybody. One day I was singing in 2008 and this picture of 2020 just came to me. You know I don’t have any church or any person to tell but to put it in a song” in the year 2020 3sum kata wiase a’, did it come ?. Music is prophetic, you know it is a prophetic game”, he emphasized.

The Highlife Musician disclosed that Daddy Lumba is the mastermind and pillar of his music career.

” Lumba was the pillar. I will pick my CD go around town and nobody was listening to me. The very first time I met him, he said you are a Star and I am going to help you and so he is the mastermind”, he revealed.
