I report to Transport Minister not DVLA – Ayalolo bus CEO

Chief Executive Officer of Ayalolo’s Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) terminals at Tudu and Adenta, Nana Bugyei, has rejected claims by the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) CEO, Julius Neequaye Kotey, insisting that he does not report to him.

Speaking on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen show, Mr. Bugyei stated that his mandate comes directly from the Ministry of Transport, and therefore, the DVLA chief has “no locus” to question his work.

“He met with me and told me to come to the office, but I just can’t go to the minister. He instructed the chief director to send me an invitation, but I still haven’t received anything, and he doesn’t even respond to my calls. Why would I continue working for eight years without a contract? I do not report to the CEO of DVLA; I report directly to the Ministry of Transport. Therefore, Julius Neequaye Kotey has no authority to question me,” he said.

Mr. Bugyei further alleged that Mr. Kotey was making “false claims” aimed at tarnishing his reputation, noting that any official correspondence regarding his role has always come directly from the Ministry.

According to him, attempts by the DVLA boss to use his position to undermine him will not succeed.

“The minister needed me and sent a letter to my last known location, so no one can claim they are looking for me and haven’t found me. Everything Julius is saying is a complete pack of lies meant to destroy people. He thinks he can use his position to harm others,” he added.
