Bernard Asamoah, nicknamed Daddy, a defendant in the trial of the 14 suspected killers of the late Major Maxwell Adams Mahama, has informed an Accra High Court that he identified himself in an amateur video.
He claimed to have seen himself throwing stones at the late Major Mahama in the police interrogation video that was shown to him.
This was said by Mr. Asamoah on Monday in Accra during his main testimony before the Court.
The alleged murder of Major Mahama, a 5th Infantry Battalion officer, at Burma Camp, is being tried by 14 people in an Accra High Court.
On May 29, 2017, some locals in the Central Region allegedly attacked the late Major, who was on duty at Denkyira-Obuasi.
The mob apparently rejected his repeated claims that he was a member of the Ghana Armed Forces.
William Baah, an Assemblyman from Denkyira-Obuasi, Bernard Asamoah, also known as Daddy, Kofi Nyame, also known as Abortion, Akwasi Boah, Kwame Tuffour, Joseph Appiah Kubi, Michael Anim, and Bismarck Donkor are among the accused.
John Bosie, Akwasi Baah, Charles Kwaning, Emmanuel Badu, Bismarck Abanga, and Kwadwo Anima are some of the others.
The accused person said before the court that the police had shown him a first video to identify himself during questioning, but he was unable to do so. However, after being shown a second video, he was successful in doing so.
