Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, the Member of Parliament for North Tongu and Ranking Member of the Foreign Affairs Committee, has announced his intention to retire from Parliament in the near future.
Following this announcement, the MP encouraged constituents with leadership aspirations to begin preparing themselves to uphold the high standards established during his tenure.
He emphasised that significant resources have been dedicated to training the next generation of professionals—including aeronautical engineers, lawyers, and legislators—to ensure the constituency’s continued growth.
The MP shared these reflections during a ceremony in Juapong, where he presented scholarship funds to fifty local students.
While urging the beneficiaries to remain disciplined and committed to excellence, he expressed his pride in fueling the academic ambitions of his constituents.
“We are producing engineers, lawyers, aeronautical engineers, future MPs who will be taking over from me because I will be retiring soon. Also, future presidents and future teachers who will come and help us to maintain the high standards we are laying over here.”
Mr. Ablakwa concluded by reaffirming his dedication to youth development, noting that the scholarship program is a cornerstone of his legacy in North Tongu.
“Keep making me proud. I am always excited to hand out these scholarships,” he added.
