British actor, Idris Elba on Sunday joined Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II and the Asantehemaa Nana Konadu Yiadom III at Manhyia Palace to celebrate the first Akwasidae of the year 2023.
The British actor was spotted in a beautiful and meticulously sewn Asante Bonwire Kente named Abrempong Ntoma.
The Akwasidae Festival is a magnificent Ashanti celebration centered on ancestral reverence, remembrance and acknowledgement of past kings and noble feats.
It serves as a celebration of the Golden Stool and a cultural vibrancy that brings together the Asantehene, sub-kings and subjects at Manhyia in Kumasi.
The actor was also there with his production team, who filmed parts of the festival to be featured in his upcoming film.
The Hollywood star who has been in Ghana for some days now also met with President Akufo Addo at the Jubilee House in Accra, where he disclosed that he promised to build world-class film studios in Ghana.
