Kennedy Agyapong, the former firebrand Member of Parliament for Assin Central and aspiring Presidential candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has dropped a bombshell threat against any attempts to rig the party’s internal elections.
In an exclusive interview on United Television’s (UTV) flagship Adekye Nsroma programme, Agyapong vowed that party security operatives who resort to violence will face the consequences of a lifetime.
“Any attempt to use party security to beat anyone will get a shock of their lives,” he declared, his voice laced with unyielding resolve.
The outspoken politician, known for his straight-talking style, zeroed in on fears of electoral foul play.
He warned potential saboteurs: “I can survive with anything, I don’t have their time but that doesn’t mean they should go and steal the election.”
Pressed by the host on whether he trusts the party’s structures amid rigging allegations, Agyapong didn’t mince words.
“I believe in the structures but last minute… EC officials they’ve been in meeting with, I know,” he revealed, hinting at behind-the-scenes maneuvers.
His most explosive line came when recounting potential violence, “They use party security to beat my people but that day they will run, I swear my father.”
