Progressive Voices, an association serving as a voice for the progressive development of Kwadaso, has asked delegates in the constituency to disregard a comment made by the Member of Parliament for the area, Dr. Kingsley Nyarko, endorsing Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

Dr. Kingsley Nyarko is reported to have endorsed and said that all delegates of the Kwadaso Constituency will vote for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to emerge as the flagbearer of the elephant party on November 4, 2023. He made this comment when Dr. Bawumia, together with his campaign team, met delegates from Kwadaso Constituency during their Presidential Campaign trail on Friday, July 7, 2023.

Responding to the remarks of the MP, Progressive Voices for Kwadaso Municipal in a press statement indicated that Dr. Kingsley Nyarko’s deceitful comments do not represent the views of the delegates in the constituency.

The group said the unmerited comment from the ungrateful Member of Parliament should be treated with the contempt it deserves.

According to the group, prior to the 2020 General elections, Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto, former Minister for Food and Agriculture, supported the current Kwadaso MP with an amount of GH₵600,000 to win the NPP Kwadaso Parliamentary primaries when all financial hope was lost for him, and an additional GH₵100,000 and some undisclosed items during the peak of the 2020 General Elections.

“In fact, Dr. Akoto made him a Member of Parliament, because the MP possessed no single charisma and aura to ever become MP. His personal magnetism to ever become an MP was in the zero and anyone in Kwadaso would easily attest to it.” The group claimed

The group added that Dr. Bawumia, his Campaign team, and the general public should not be carried away by the endorsement comments made by the MP since those comments represent his views and not the entire Kwadaso Constituency.

The Progressive Voices noted in their statement that Dr. Akoto will get nothing less than 90% of the votes from the Kwadaso delegates come November 4, 2023.

“We, the Progressive Voices for Kwadaso Municipal, will therefore like to inform Dr. Bawumia, his Campaign team and the general public that, they should not be deceived by the words of the Kwadaso MP, and must be well assured that, the natives of Kwadaso Constituency are not with Dr. Bawumia. In fact, the natives of Kwadaso are not ungrateful like the MP whom they elected because of the magnanimity and influence of Dr. Akoto and the immeasurable affection they have for him, and that, Dr. Akoto will take not less than 90% of the vote of KWADASO!” The group added
