Mr. Christian Tetteh Yohuno, Inspector-General of Police (IGP) has met with the Savanna Regional Security Council (REGSEC) as part of measures put in place to reinforce security deployment to Sawla and nearby communities following violent clashes that left tensions in the area.
The move comes as authorities race to restore calm and prevent further bloodshed in the troubled enclave.
Local officials revealed that the violence erupted on Sunday morning in Gbiniyiri, a farming community, following a bitter land ownership dispute.
The confrontation spiralled out of control, leaving multiple casualties.
Three of the six injured are in critical condition and receiving treatment at nearby health facilities.
