The Ghana Police Service has dismissed widespread rumours suggesting that the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Christian Tetteh Yohuno, has passed away.

In a statement shared on X on Sunday November 30, the Service said its attention had been drawn to speculation circulating online about the IGP’s death. It described the claims as completely false.

According to the Police, Mr. Yohuno is alive, in good health, and carrying out his duties as expected. The public, officers of the Service, and the IGP’s family have been urged to ignore the reports.

The statement also cautioned individuals spreading the false information, describing the act as malicious and reckless.

The Police warned that disinformation is an offense and that anyone found responsible will face the law.
