The Minister for National Security, Albert Kan Dapaah together with his lawyers have been invited to appear before the committee probing the alleged plot to oust the IGP.
Giving his concluding remarks after the Tuesday’s sitting, Chairman of the committee, Mr. Samuel Atta Akyea said Wednesday’s sitting which will commence at 10 am, Chief Bugri Naabu, all three witnesses, the IGP and the National Security minister together with their lawyers are important for the sitting.
Taking his turn before the committee, the Inspector General of Police, George Akuffo Dampare was invited to answer allegations leveled against him by COP George Alex Mensah when he appeared before the committee.
COP Mensah alleged that, the IGP is the worst IGP he has seen in his 31 years in the service adding that actions of George Akuffo Dampare could result in the NPP not “breaking the 8”.
Meanwhile the IGP, indicated that allegations leveled against him are untrue adding that the allegations are just for personal gains and nothing else.
He stressed that, he is commitment to upholding the law and maintaining the integrity of the Ghana Police Service and his willingness to work as a team to improve the service and the country as a whole.
