In a gesture of high commendation, the Inspector General of Police (IGP) ,COP Christian Tetteh Yohuno, has promoted celebrated armwrestling champion Grace Minta to the rank of Chief Inspector, acknowledging her exceptional contributions to sports and the image of the Ghana Police Service.
The promotion was announced during a special meeting between the IGP and police officers who actively represent the Service in various sporting disciplines.
Dr. Yohuno praised the athletes for their discipline and commitment, which continue to bring pride to the Service.
He singled out Grace Minta, a national weightlifting and armwrestling icon, for her consistent performance and excellence on the sports stage.
“I’ve heard your name many times and followed your achievements. Though we hadn’t met in person until now, I want to commend you for making the Service proud,” the IGP said. “Effective immediately, you are promoted to Chief Inspector in recognition of your achievements and sporting prowess.”
Dr. Yohuno described Minta as a shining example of resilience, hard work, and discipline, and said her promotion reflects the Police Administration’s appreciation for officers who go above and beyond their call of duty.
