Mr. Benard Antwi Bosiako, the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party [NPP], has threatened to arrest Hon. Kennedy Agyapong if he attacks him again.
“If you threatened me again, I will have you arrested, because it’s the same way you threatened Ahmed Suale and he’s no longer alive.” Wontumi dares Kennedy Agyapong
Chairman Wontumi made a revelation today, October 4, 2023, during a press conference in the Ashanti Region.
According to him, he has never, on any platform, insulted Kennedy Agyapong, as he stated during his showdown walk.
He claimed that the NPP presidential aspirant was not the only one who helped the party win the 2016 election.
Mr. Bernard Antwi Bosiako stated that the Assin Central Member of Parliament was part of the 2016 election campaign, but he should not portray himself as the sole cause of the NPP’s victory in 2016.
“I love NPP, I will never say anything against the party or Kennedy Agyapong. I will always ensure the progress of the party. I will let the police arrest you if you threaten me again with your showdown comments. I’m advising you against such comments, your threats on Ahmed Suale’s life caused his death. I’m not interested in you losing the elections, but please tell delegates what you can do for the party and desist from spewing derogatory comments against party members, and polling station agents. Just try to apologise to them. You have insulted chiefs, judges, and everyone in the country, everybody knows what you can do, change your attitude,” he advised.
What Kennedy Ohene Agyapong said about Chairman Wontumi
Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, a presidential candidate for the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), has accused the party’s Ashanti Regional Chairman, Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, and four other regional chairmen of turning the party’s National Council into a hooliganism group.
Chairman Wontumi and his colleagues, he claims, have succeeded in making the National Council an avenue for summoning any candidate other than Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia for whatever reason.
Mr. Agyapong told party supporters who joined him on his “Showdown Walk” in Kumasi today that while his and other aspirants’ agents were beaten during the party’s Super Delegates Conference, neither the National Council nor the national executives did anything about it and instead summoned him for declaring a showdown for the President and Vice President.
The Assin Central Member of Parliament said he is “so disappointed in National Executives….” for their actions and inactions towards other aspirants in the Presidential race.
According to him, if the National executives discriminate against other aspirants, it will affect the fortunes of the party, going into the 2024 presidential election.
