The flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama, has expressed satisfaction with his choice of Professor Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang as his running mate in the 2024 general elections.
This comes after the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) endorsed the 72-year-old to join Mahama in their bid to win power for the party.
Mr. Mahama, following the approval of Prof. Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang, took to social media to express how pleased he was with the decision.
“I am proud to have Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang as my running mate,” he wrote.
He added that Jane Opoku Agyemang is the preferred candidate because of her vision for the country.
“Her integrity, dedication, and vision for a better Ghana make her the ideal candidate to join me in leading our party to victory in the upcoming elections.”

Meanwhile, the NDC in a statement has described her as someone with immense experience to help them win the elections, adding that her nomination demonstrates the party’s dedication to diversity.
“Her nomination underscores the NDC’s unwavering commitment to inclusivity, diversity, and the empowerment of women in leadership roles.
Possessing extensive qualifications and experience, Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the NDC’s presidential ticket,” part of the statement read.
