Flagbearer aspirant and a candidate for the New Patriotic Party’s Super Delegate run-off scheduled for September 2, Boakye Kyeremateng Agyarko has denied claims of withdrawing from the run-off
Both Boakye Agyarko and Francis Addai-Nimoh after the Super Delegates conference on Saturday, August 26, had 9 votes each allowing a run-off to decide which of them will join the other 4 aspirants for the November 4 primaries.
Information circulating in the early hours of Monday, August 28 indicated that the former energy minister has decided to step down to allow Francis Addai-Nimoh join the other 4.
But a statement for the office of Boakye Agyarko has denied the claim.
” I have not made any such pronouncements with anyone or any media house. I am ready for the upcoming run-off scheduled for Saturday, September 2, 2023″, the statement said.
The top 4 aspirants to contest in the November 4 primaries are; Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, Assin Central MP Kennedy Agyapong, former Trade Minister Alan Kyerematen and former Food and Agriculture Minister, Dr. Afriyie Akoto.
Nine hundred and sixty-one (961) super delegates are expected to participate in the run-off on Saturday.
