Up and coming gospel artiste, Carl Clottey has bitten off more than he can chew for maliciously and unjustifiably harming the good reputation of the Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana National Gospel Music Awards [GNGMA], Peter Dwobeng for taking money to allow promising artistes perform.
He alleged that, a board member [Rev. Eyison] told him to pay to be featured on the bill to perform alongside other artistes.
Carl Clottey’s allegation against the board member of the prestigious Ghana National Gospel Music Awards [GNGMA] scheme was borne out of ignorance as he confessed on live radio as having no bad intention of tarnishing the image of the organizers of the awards show.
Speaking to Christian Agyei Frimpng on Onua Fm, the budding gospel artiste said he questioned Rev. Eyison on why the scheme has billed secular artistes like Fameye and Kuami Eugene to perform on a gospel awards scheme platform when he [Carl Clottey] is a better choice than the secular acts.
According to him, he made those damning allegations based on what he has heard about a colleague artiste who paid so much to earn a performance slot on a popular awards show platform in Ghana.
“Please humbling, I want to make certain statements. The man I spoke with is like a father, I’ve known him for 5 years. I asked Rev. Eyison if I can ask a question about the voting pattern and performance. I have no bad intention and please no one should see the award scheme as not credible.
“Yesterday, my manager called me telling if we should also pay NGMA organizers to also get a space to perform. I based my question on the fact that I have heard that an artiste paid so much to perform on a certain award show. I also asked Rev Eyison that why are secular artistes performing on NGMA platform when we [gospel artistes] can be part of the performances and do better.
“I want to apologize to Sergio that I’m very sorry. I’ll never defame the award scheme or the CEO of NGMA. I know how difficult it is to put an award scheme together so I’ll never do that to NGMA” Carl apologized to the organizers of NGMA
Myrepubliconline.com‘s investigation done regarding Carl Clottey’s malicious claim clearly points accusing fingers at budding urban gospel artiste, Kobby Salm who has been alleged to have paid money to organizers of 3Music Awards to be allowed to perform on the eve of the awards night.
It is obvious Carl Clottey is not the only gospel artiste who has made such derogatory comments about colleague gospel artistes and the organizers of the Ghana National Gospel Music Awards [GNGMA] as a popular female gospel artiste has been caught in that same web claiming is either the CEO of the Ghana scheme has slept with fast rising female gospel artiste JAYANA [Jemima Annor-Yeboah] or she has also paid money to the organizers to be featured on their platform.
Sources say, the celebrated gospel artiste alleged that Jayana isn’t at the level where her images should be featured on billboards and given platforms to perform.
“To err is human to forgive is divine” as CEO of the National Gospel Music Awards [GNGMA] dropped a defamation suit he was about to file against the promising artiste Carl Clottey.
Carl Clottey in his submission on Onua FM humbly retracted his allegations and begged the organizers to forgive him.
