Ghanaian Reggae/Dancehall singer, Razak Abdul Ishahaku known in the showbiz circles as Iwan has stated reason for his long absence from the music scene.
According to the “who’s Bad” hit maker, although he hasn’t been active on major platforms, he released an album last September.
While speaking to Nana Effah on Republic FM’s Artiste Profile on Friday, April 8, 2022, he narrated that, most of the time when people say “visibility” it means coming on the major platforms but he is still visible to his fans.
“I have released an album last year September and one or two joints and an upcoming tour and so most often when you say visibility, it means appearing in the major platforms but then we still have our fans following what we are doing and yeah, we are visible to our fans”, he stated.
However, while responding to questions posed by Nana Effah if he so intended not push his songs and interviews to the major platforms and media outlets in the country, the “Tell dem Again” crooner made his position clear and added that, every Artiste would wish that their production works gets to the main platforms and cannot establish why the main platforms are not taking his songs, but insisted that it can be known to them and their reasons.
“Oh yeah, everyone would want their songs and albums to be on the main platforms because we always do our best to push it but if the main platforms are not taking it, I don’t know on their part and their reasons”.
“I cannot tell you the reason why they are not promoting my songs but what I know is that every year, I releases an album and go on a nationwide tour because my fans are not centered in Accra”, he said.
Iwan was the first person to receive an award in reggae/dancehall in Ghana.
He was initially signed to Bullhaus Entertainment, the force behind the hiplife duo 5five, and took the music industry by storm with some interesting rhythms from his debut album titled Iwan – My Time. This was 2010.
