Minister for the Interior, Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, has commissioned a 50-bed capacity Police Hospital in Kumasi, fully funded by the Police Welfare Scheme. The hospital is expected to enhance healthcare accessibility for police personnel, their dependents, and the public.
In his speech, Mr. Muntaka praised the leadership of the Ghana Police Service and the custodians of the welfare scheme for their exceptional foresight in ensuring sustainable access to healthcare for officers. He noted that the hospital is not just a building, but a symbol of what can be achieved when unity meets purpose.
The Minister pledged Government’s commitment to ensure that this hospital is staffed, equipped, and maintained to the highest standards. He revealed that the construction of the Tamale Police Hospital, which is 80% complete, and the recruitment of medical staff for both the Tamale and Kumasi hospitals are underway, with operations set to commence soon.
