The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has assured the public that it will make its findings on the former Minister of Sanitation and Water Resources, Cecilia Abena Dapaah’s stolen cash, available in due time.
According to the OSP, it began investigating suspected corruption and corruption-related offences against Madam Cecilia Dapaah on Thursday, July 20, 2023, following reports of some amounts of money that were stolen from her house.
In a statement, the OSP indicated that different steps have been employed as part of investigations to get to the bottom of the issue.
“On Thursday, 20 July, 2023, the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) commenced an investigation into suspected corruption and corruption-related offences involving the former Minister for Sanitation and Water Resources, Cecilia Abena Dapaahin respect to large sums reportedly stolen from her house.
“The OSP has, since then, taken a number of steps to and actions, including placing Ms. Dapaah under arrest and conducting searches at two residential properties associated with her,” the statement indicated.
The OSP noted that the investigation is still ongoing and pledged to let Ghanaians know the outcome when it is concluded.
“The OSP is still conducting its investigation. The public will be briefed on the outcome of the investigation when it is concluded, including any further steps the Office may take.”
