The Greater Accra Regional Minister, Daniel Nii Kwartei Titus Glover, has hinted that, President Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo will soon commission the Jamestown Harbour.
In an interview on Asaase Breakfast Show (ABS) on Wednesday, August 7, Titus Glover announced that, the project is fully completed which aims to benefit the fishing community at large.
“Today, when you go to the Jamestown fishing harbour, you have an ice plant, you have a fish market, you have a clinic, you have a day nursery, you have a net mending wharf for the fishermen, you go and sell your fish and if in case you will not be able to sell all your catch, you make sure you send it to the cold store to go and get it preserved for you. The next morning, you come and pay something, then you go and go and sell, this is how we want to make fishing in Ga Mashie so nice to the people”, he said.
Titus Glover further noted that, the habour is not yet operational, they are waiting on a date from the president and Transport Minister.
“No, it is not yet operational, so the president and the Minister for Transport will look for a date, then we will go and commission it, then [GPHA] will move its staff into the fishing harbour, then we will start operating”, he clarified.
