Mexico striker Raul Jimenez is aiming to add to an impressive record of goals scored against Jordan Pickford in Monday’s World Cup last-16 tie against England.
The striker, who has recently agreed a return to former club Wolves from Fulham, has found the net six times against the Three Lions goalkeeper during his club career in England.
He told Sky Sports News: “I saw that statistic yesterday. I didn’t realise it before. It’s really good and I want to keep increasing my goals against him. Against England, it would be my first.
“I will be working hard, making things difficult for their defence. For us to win, we need to use every ball.”
Co-hosts Mexico are out to claim their place in the quarter-finals against a group of players Jimenez is very familiar with.
“It’s always important. not just because it’s England. It’s a World Cup. If we can make the best game of our lives, it will be fantastic.”
