The former National Organiser of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr Yaw Boateng Gyan has claimed that the Flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress for the 2020 general elections, John Dramani Mahama sponsored Mr Kofi Adams to overthrow him as the National Organiser of the party.
The Member of Parliament for Buem constituency and former National Organiser of the NDC, Mr Kofi Adams defeated Mr Boateng Gyan who was the incumbent during the party’s primaries.
“People were saying it was Mahama who sponsored Kofi Adams to contest me. I didn’t believe it but I believe it now because of what people around Mahama are doing to me”, Gyan cried
Mr Boateng Gyan made the allegation during an interview on the morning show of Okay FM.
He said, he will support the former Governor of the Bank of Ghana, Dr Kwabena Dufour if he joins the Flagbearship race of the NDC.
Mr Yaw Boateng Gyan said Dr Kwabena Dufour is his friend so he cannot turn his back against him in any competition.
He lamented that Mr Mahama has surrounded himself with people who give him ill advice and they do not let him know the facts on the ground as far as election 2024 is concerned.
He said a lot of NDC supporters want a change of flagbearer and want to get a new face for election 2024.
Mr gyan warned those “Mahama boys” making bad publications about him to stop else he will reveal something that will not augur well for Mr Mahama.
The former NDC National Organiser echoed that some of them will not sit down unconcerned for any alien to snatch the party from them because they fought hard for the survival of the party and made it attractive for Prof. John Evans Atta Mills to become the President of Ghana on the ticket of the NDC.
