Amenfi Central Parliamentary aspirant for the National Democratic Congress, Joana Gyan Cudjoe has announced her intention to contest the party’s primary again.
This follows a decision by the party’s Functional Executive Committee (FEC) to annul the parliamentary primary conducted on the 13th of May 2023 in the constituency.
Prior to annulling the results, the Sekondi High Court placed a restraining order on Joana Cudjoe Gyan from holding herself out as Parliamentary Candidate (PC) after the court granted an interlocutory injunction at the request of five NDC members in the constituency.
Meanwhile, in a statement issued on Thursday, September 5, Joana Cudjoe Gyan noted that the “rerun presents us with a renewed opportunity to come together and build a stronger Amenfi Central. I remain deeply committed to our shared vision of progress, development, and empowerment for all. With your trust and support, I will continue to advocate for better education, infrastructure, healthcare, and economic opportunities that will uplift every corner of our constituency.”
She also noted that she would “need the support of everyone—our youth, women, men, elders, and all stakeholders—to make this vision a reality. Together, we can overcome the challenges before us and create lasting change that benefits the entire community. I humbly ask for your vote, your prayers, and your support as we embark on this important journey. Let us unite, reset the course of Amenfi Central, and work towards the future we all deserve”.
Aspirants are expected to pick up nomination forms from the office of the deputy general secretary in charge of administration and finance today Friday, September 6, 2024, while the primaries will be held on Sunday, September 8, 2024.
