Former president John Dramani Mahama has urged Ghanaians to pray for Ghanaian player, Christian Atsu, who has been reportedly trapped under rubble following an earthquake in Turkey this morning.
As was reported in the morning, the forward including the Sporting Director of Hatayspor Taner Savut were trapped under rubble after an earthquake, that hit parts of Turkey.
Atsu joined Hatayspor which is the main club in Hatay, one of the cities affected by the disaster, in the year 2022.
The former president upon hearing the unfortunate about the former Black Stars winger in a Tweet said “Let’s continue to pray for our brother, Christian Atsu, and his club director. The city of Hayat is in the region affected by the earthquake. Let’s continue to pray that God spares their lives.”

Atsu first came to Chelsea from Porto as a young player in 2013, and was later loaned out.
The 31-year old has made 65 appearances for the Black Stars, scoring nine goals.
